ADHD─Not just kids!

The Attention Deficit Disorder Association estimates that at least 4% to 6% of the U.S. population has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

ADHD individuals and those with other invisible needs easily constitute a similar portion of the American workforce, although most are reluctant to share their condition with coworkers and management.  Smart workplaces value all staff members and work toward a balanced and welcoming culture.

Often highly creative, big-picture thinkers, these attributes may have helped them advance in their careers to higher level positions. However, the symptoms of ADHD can limit their performance or advancement potential. Typically there are varying degrees of difficulties with:

Information Management (paper and electronic, especially paper)
Attention regulation
(typically over- or under-focused)
Time awareness accuracy
Attention to detail and planning
Social Skills
(due to impulsivity)
Procrastination
Unfocused thinking
(difficulties with "getting it together")

Mastery Consulting has a great deal of experience helping ADHD and Chronically Disorganized workers. We are a valuable asset to companies supportive of invisible needs workers, through retained services and promoting awareness of services as described above.

Where there are apples, there are trees, so if you have a family member with AD/HD, consider that it might be in your day, too.

Progressive, smart workplaces retain workers.
